A Little Bit About Us and Our Cows

Dexter Pines is dedicated to providing a wide variety of Dexter cows that are suitable for any small farm or homestead. From duns, to reds, to blacks, from male to female, castrated or bulls, meat or milk, pets or production, registered or not, we have your perfect Dexter cow.

Our Story

Dexter Pines was born out of a passion for manageable, sustainable natural living. We value the resources God has given us and believe in being good stewards of this earth. In order to do that, we have always been interested in smaller scaled homestead farms that provide food, honest work, joy, and nutrients for ordinary families. Whether you want to have one milk cow, or a whole herd of milk and meat cows, we're here to support your small homestead journey.

Our main mission is to provide small dexter cows that resonate with families wanting to provide milk for their families, sell calves for cash, or butcher for meat. Dexters are an old English breed of cow that originally started out as miniature cows. Naturally, through breeding and capitalism, many of the Dexters have lost their true, miniature size and are closer to being the size of a standard cow. However, here at Dexter Pines farm, we are dedicated to returning back to the miniature Dexter cows by utilizing the condra gene possessed by some Dexter cows. We're also dedicated to providing cows that have the potentiality of the A-2 gene which allows for lactose intolerant people to drink milk. We strive for only the best genetic lines and achieving that as naturally as possible which is why we line breed our cows and register them.

If you're interested in gaining more information on Dexter cows, the condra gene, etc. or are interested in purchasing one of our cows, feel free to fill out the contact form! We'd be more than happy to help in whatever way we can.

Thank you for your interest and we hope to help support you in your small homestead journey.
